2. Use and plans

Money Koi has three plans. Each plan includes everything in the plan before it.

• Free: the app on the device, at no cost and without an account.
• Pro: a one-time purchase that unlocks additional features on the device. Pro is not a subscription and needs no account.
• Cloud: everything in Pro, plus sync across devices, cloud backup, shared books and the web dashboard. Cloud needs an account and is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. All three include the same features.
• The app shows which features belong to which plan before a purchase.
• Cloud belongs to a book. Every book a user owns is a Cloud book while that user’s Cloud plan is active.
• People invited to a Cloud book use every feature inside that book, but not in their own books.
• If the Cloud plan of the person who owns a book ends, the book stops syncing for everyone in it.

Purchases

3. Purchases and subscriptions

• Pro and Cloud are sold as in-app purchases through the Apple App Store and Google Play. The store handles payment, billing, cancellation and refunds, and its terms apply to the purchase as well.
• The store shows the price, including VAT, before the purchase is confirmed. Prices can differ by country.
• Monthly and yearly Cloud subscriptions renew automatically until they are cancelled in the store account. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for.
• Pro and Cloud lifetime are paid once and never renew.
• A plan can come with a free trial. Before it starts, the store shows how long it lasts, what the plan costs afterwards and when billing starts.
• A plan can have a launch price for a limited time. It is shown with its end date and the regular price that applies afterwards.
• Owners of Pro are offered Cloud lifetime as an upgrade, so Pro is never paid for twice.
• Purchases belong to the store account they were made with. Restore purchases in the app brings them back on a new device that uses the same store account.
• Refunds are requested from the store and follow its rules. Statutory rights are not affected.
• When a Cloud subscription ends, sync stops. The data stays on the devices, and Pro remains if it was bought, otherwise Free. The server copy is kept for as long as the account exists and syncs again once Cloud is renewed.

Definition

4. What “lifetime” means

“Lifetime” and “for life” mean: for as long as Money Koi Cloud is operated. They do not refer to a person’s lifetime or to the lifetime of a device.

• This applies to Cloud lifetime, the upgrade from Pro to Cloud lifetime and the early-adopter offer in section 5.
• If Money Koi Cloud is to be discontinued, users are informed at least six months before it ends, in the app and by email.
• Until it ends, every export the app offers stays available, so all data can be taken along.
• When Money Koi Cloud ends, sync stops. The data on the devices stays there.

Offer

5. Early-adopter offer

Every Money Koi account created before 8 November 2026, 00:00 Vienna time (CET), gets Cloud for life, as defined in section 4, at no cost.

• What counts is when the account was created. Installing the app or using it without an account does not qualify.
• Nothing has to be bought, and the offer does not start a subscription.
• The offer is personal and belongs to that account. It cannot be transferred, sold or moved to another account.
• Books owned by that account are Cloud books, so invited people use every feature inside them (section 2).
• If the account is deleted, the offer ends with it. It is not restored if a new account is created later.

Conduct

6. User responsibilities

• Users are responsible for keeping their login credentials secure.
• The app may not be used for illegal purposes.

• Support is provided on a best-effort basis via moneykoi.app@gmail.com.

Rights

8. Intellectual property

• The app, logo and code are the property of the provider.
• Users retain all rights to their own financial data.

Reliability

9. Availability

The provider aims for high availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted service.

Liability

10. Limitation of liability

• The provider is not liable for financial decisions made based on app data.
• Prices, exchange rates and forecasts in the app are for information only. They can be delayed or wrong and are not investment advice.
• Liability for intent and gross negligence, for personal injury and under mandatory consumer law is not affected.

Changes

11. Changes to the terms

• The provider may update these terms.
• Significant changes are announced in the app before they take effect.

Termination

12. Termination

• Use of the app can be stopped at any time.
• Deleting the account does not cancel a store subscription. It is cancelled in the store account.
• The provider may suspend accounts that violate the conduct rules.

Law

13. Governing law

• Austrian law applies. Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country they live in.
• Place of jurisdiction is Steyr, Austria, as far as the law allows. For consumers, the statutory place of jurisdiction applies.
