Stay friends

Money between friends works best when it's boring.

01

Settle within a week

Memories fade faster than debts. Squaring up while the trip is fresh keeps it light – and nobody has to remind anyone.

02

Write it down along the way

Add each payment on the day, with a photo of the receipt if handy. Reconstructing a week of spending afterwards is where arguments start.

03

Agree on rounding

Round to the nearest euro, or let small differences go. Chasing 37 cents costs more goodwill than it's worth.

04

Split by what people used

Not everyone drinks, drives or joins every dinner. Only split what someone actually took part in – that's what the "for" names are for.

Lent, borrowed, paid back.

Money Koi keeps track of what friends and family owe – and what's owed to them – with reminders, but without awkward conversations.
